Written by Neil. "This Perfect Morning" continues the surf vibe of Joe's "Snatched From The Jaws Of Paradise".
Neil has lived within 10 minutes of the beach nearly all his life, so beach culture kind of runs in his veins - and that of his family who have all well and truly succumbed to the draw of the ocean.
The track features: Neil on vocals, guitars and bass, Joe on some crunchy lead parts, Mike Watkins on drums (Mike is a "burn the candle at both ends" kind of guy from Sterling in the US - we treasure every drum track we get from him), and Roger Ilott (ex RDB) on 12 string Rickenbacker.
lyrics
Look out at the sapphire sea
We ebb with the changing tide
Hunting the waves to ride this perfect morning
How lucky are we in this wide brown land
“With boundless plains to share”
Living without a care this perfect morning
We’re here on the edge of this big brown land
East of the Great Divide
And we're watching the southern swell roll in
On the blue horizon
She’s living her life by the deep blue sea
Under the Southern Cross
And she knows all the waves by name
So she’ll never get lost
She’s a child of the Southern Ocean
He’s a son of the sapphire sea
That’s how its going to be this perfect morning
They’ll be here on the edge of the ocean
Still watching the changing tide
Still hunting the waves to ride this perfect morning
